'Icarus' / 2022

The sculpture made in tribute and admiration for the art of the unparalleled and extraordinary Leonardo da Vinci.

To make the series I used the unique bogwood oak, age of wood from 1700 B.C.E. up to 500 AD, confirmed by a certificate of radiocarbon testing from a renowned institute.

The Icarus was carved from oak wood, burnt and brushed.

Wings made of steam bent oak wood, covered with cotton fabric, natural leather straps, jute rope and steel elements.
